Autumn field exercise : basics of biomonitoring
Field exercise focused on the basics of biomonitoring was held in September 21 to 25 at the field station Mohelský mill. Ten students from four institutes attended the event. The excercise was combined of lectures on the basic techniques of monitoring on vertebrate and examples of monitoring in practice (eg . Monitroing of large carnivores, lynx, reptiles, amphibians, etc.). Part of the exercise were three practical examples of monitoring focused on rodents, bats and birds. Students could try to lay traps for small rodents, manipulate trapped individuals, learned how to evaluate the data obtained in the monitoring of bats and learned two methods of monitoring the birds.
